Giulia Wide-Leg Drawstring Trousers

The leg
Wide-leg drawstring trousers, straight from the hip
The leg is cut wide and even, with no taper and no flare.
A column like that skims rather than clings, and it makes the whole silhouette look taller.
They are long enough for a flat sandal or a low heel, and if you are shorter they break beautifully over a flat. They look elegant with no effort.
The waist
Drawstring, and pockets that hold a phone
The waist is elasticated all the way round with a flat drawstring through it, so it gathers softly.
Two side pockets are cut deep enough to be useful rather than decorative.
It is one less thing to fasten, and it sits comfortably across a wide range of sizes. They are comfortable all day.

The fit
Eleven colours, S to 3XL
Take your usual UK size; go up only if you want extra length as well as room through the hip.
Wide below, close above: a vest, a fitted knit or a tucked shirt all do the job.

From Maria & Denis
Wide-leg drawstring trousers you reach for when it is warm and nothing else will do — a relaxed waist, two deep side pockets and a leg that falls straight from the hip to the floor.
Eleven colours, which is unusual at this price, in sizes S to 3XL. They are an easy everyday favourite.
In motion
See the legs move
The wide straight leg, the soft drawstring waist and the deep side pockets, in white and in burgundy.
Why you will love it
A true wide leg that falls straight.
An elasticated drawstring waist.
Deep side pockets.
Skims rather than clings.
Eleven colours, S to 3XL.
Fabric & care
A light polyester blend woven with a fine crinkle texture, which is what keeps it looking crisp and stops it clinging in warm weather.
Machine wash cool with similar colours and hang to dry — the crinkle texture means they come out needing very little attention. Cool iron if you want them sharper, or leave them as they are.
Size guide
We size this style to our own UK chart. The figures below are body measurements, so measure yourself and match the row — it is a truer guide than a garment measured flat.
| Size | UK | Bust, cm (in) | Waist, cm (in) | Hip, cm (in) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| S | 10 | 84–87 (33–34) | 66–69 (26–27) | 92–95 (36–37) |
| M | 12 | 88–91 (35–36) | 70–73 (28–29) | 96–99 (38–39) |
| L | 14 | 92–97 (36–38) | 74–79 (29–31) | 100–105 (39–41) |
| XL | 16 | 98–103 (39–41) | 80–85 (31–33) | 106–111 (42–44) |
| 2XL | 18 | 104–109 (41–43) | 86–91 (34–36) | 112–117 (44–46) |
| 3XL | 20 | 110–115 (43–45) | 92–97 (36–38) | 118–123 (46–48) |
Cut loose and gathered at the waist, so the fit is forgiving. Take your usual size; go up only if you want extra length in the leg as well as room through the hip.
